National pro-life leaders say President Joe Biden’s choice of Ketanji Brown Jackson to fulfill his promise to nominate a black woman to the U.S. Supreme Court also fits his administration’s aggressive pro-abortion stance since Jackson has shown her support for “radical” and “extreme” abortion measures.
“Joe Biden is fulfilling his promise to only appoint justices who support the Roe v. Wade regime of abortion on demand up to birth – a policy so extreme only a handful of countries in the world hold it, including North Korea and China,” said Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement.
Today Joe Biden fulfilled his promise to only appoint justices who support the Roe v. Wade regime of abortion on demand up to birth. His nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, is backed by many of America’s most radical pro-abortion groups.

The pro-life leader explained details of Jackson’s background:
Ketanji Brown Jackson is backed by many of America’s most radical pro-abortion groups. She is on record opposing the free speech rights of pro-life advocates pleading to save lives outside abortion centers and supporting the false claim that abortion is “health care.” We have no doubt she will work with the most pro-abortion administration in history to enshrine abortion on demand nationwide in the law.
But, today, we celebrate!
Join us in congratulating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her historic nomination.
She is blazing a trail for generations of brilliant Black women to follow. We are thrilled and so, so proud! (5/5) pic.twitter.com/38C2qbuB8Z

In 2001, Jackson co-authored an amicus brief in McGuire v. Reilly, filed in support of a Massachusetts law “that created a floating ‘buffer zone’ to prevent pro-life sidewalk counselors from approaching to speak with women outside of abortion facilities,” SBA List noted, adding:
Jackson’s clients included NARAL, the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, the League of Women Voters, and the Abortion Access Project of Massachusetts. NARAL and the pro-abortion National Women’s Law Center strongly supported her nomination to the D.C. Circuit.
So, @POTUS selects a #SCOTUS nominee based on color. Of course Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson is a radically pro-abortion leftist. Remember when @JoeBiden filibustered another black judge—Justice Janice Rogers Brown? We do. https://t.co/T446RDFnl7

Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins referred to Jackson as “an abortion supporter so extreme even partial birth abortion was acceptable” to her.
Hawkins detailed more about Jackson’s record on abortion:
While the world is watching Russia’s aggression and disregard for human life, Democrats in Washington D.C. are doing the very same as they push the deceptively named Women’s Health Protection Act and a Supreme Court pick who worked to defend partial birth abortion. Biden has embraced abortion extremism in embracing a candidate who worked in support of infanticide when she clerked for Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer as he struck down a Nebraska law banning horrifying partial birth abortions in a case known as Stenberg v. Carhart.
She also joined an amicus brief in an effort to block pro-life access to peacefully protest in front of abortion vendors. These are not the actions of a judge who sees preborn life as anything other than disposable, and who puts politics over decency.
“Partial birth abortion is a gruesome late-term procedure in which a baby is delivered all but the head so that a child’s brains can be removed to deliver a dead baby,” Hawkins added. “Anyone defending that kind of death is not fit for higher office.”
“If infanticide at the moment of birth does not trouble you, your moral compass is broken,” she said.
Biden’s pick of Jackson, however, appears to have lifted the spirits of the abortion industry and its allies after several years of a multitude of pro-life laws that passed in the states, the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision not to block the Texas Heartbeat Act, and the anticipation of the court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case that poses the most significant challenge in decades to the right to abortion created by the court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade.
Pro-abortion groups have come out in full support of Jackson on social media:
Our country needs a Supreme Court justice who is committed to safeguarding our individual liberties. Judge Jackson is that person. She’s the experienced and historic nominee we need to uphold the Constitution and uphold our rights. #ConfirmJackson #JusticeForALL https://t.co/xaQwxPqeWl

President Biden plans to nominate Ketanji Brown Jackson of the US Court of Appeals to the Supreme Court.
This is a historic nomination — the highest court in the land should look like America.
We will continue to defend fundamental rights and liberties in its chambers.

A DAY TO CELEBRATE (and commit to action): President Biden just announced the nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court! Congress must immediately vote to confirm her nomination and make history by elevating the very first Black woman to the nation’s highest Court! pic.twitter.com/LAKOvbY92B

“With the Court’s decision in Dobbs expected this summer, the stakes have never been higher in the fight to protect unborn children and their mothers and let the people decide this issue through their elected representatives, not unelected judges,” said Dannenfelser.
The pro-life leader observed “the overwhelming majority of Americans reject the Democrats’ extreme agenda that includes late-term abortions when unborn children can feel pain, dismemberment abortions, lethal discrimination abortions, and more.”
A recent Knights of Columbus/Marist Poll found 71 percent of Americans support restrictions on abortion, including 49 percent of Democrats, 93 percent of Republicans, and 70 percent of Independents.
